OUTWARD MOVEMENT

One of Upper Room’s core values is Outward Movement.

We desire to be a community made up of people who engage with the world,

with humility and compassion, to reflect the love, mercy and justice of Jesus.

Here are several ways community members are already engaging with the world,

whether through career or other volunteer opportunities.

one2one  believes intentional relationships create, change, and build communities. One2One has become a leader in developing school-based mentoring programs in the Twin Cities working to create equity and opportunity for young people while seeking change at the individual, institutional, and policy levels.

the young center is a champion for the rights and best interests of unaccompanied immigrant children, making sure that wherever they land, whether here in the U.S. or in their home country, they are safe.

the you are loved project brings basic necessities to the homeless community of Minneapolis. The project has grown to a community wide support system, building packages as a symbol of love and the beginning of an ongoing conversation.

good grocer is a volunteer-powered grocery store on a mission - seeking to transform the food system to make good, fresh food accessible and affordable for everyone in our community.

matter is a non-profit on a mission to serve children and families in Minnesota and around the world by increasing access to food and health.

international justice mission partners with local authorities in 24 program offices in 14 countries to combat slavery, violence against women and children, and police abuse of power against people who are poor.
