Before time itself was measured, the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
His speech shaped the entire cosmos. Immersed in the practice of creating, all things that exist were birthed in Him.
His breath filled all things
with a living, breathing light—
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
Actually the light thrives in the depths of darkness,
It cannot and will not be quenched.
On this Christmas Day, take some time to notice the places where light shines - literally and metaphorically. Whether it be a glimmer, a twinkle, or a brilliant outpouring… may you experience the nearness of Christ. And may you have the grace to receive this living, breathing light.
