This unexpected season has ushered in a new reality for all of us. While practicing intentional social distancing, it can feel challenging to know how to offer care and support to those who need it most. Two ways we know to keep showing up for one another is through prayer and simple acts of care.
community prayer & care
We have created an online platform to provide two simple ways we hope to keep showing up as a church community in this challenging and unexpected season:
Post a prayer, take some time to pray for others, or share stories of the goodness of God or other people.
Post a need or respond to a need of other community members if you are able. If you have friends and family members in need - feel free to post for them as well.
Prayers for Those On the Front Lines
We also recognize that right now we have many community members on the front lines, fighting this pandemic. Doctors, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, those working in check-out lines or the food service industry, and beyond. Upper Room is partnering with Colonial Church to offer an additional level of prayer support. Our hope is to match those individuals serving selflessly on the front lines with an individual community member or family who is dedicated to praying for them.
If you are currently serving our communities in this capacity and would like to be matched with an individual or family for ongoing prayer - please take a moment to fill out this form and we will follow up with you. And if you are interested in praying for people serving on the front lines - please email Katie.
A spiritual practice is an activity that helps establish, nourish, and develop a relationship with God. We have posted a number of spiritual practices and reflections in the past few weeks and they are all available on IGTV (Instagram). Please click here to access those.
